We have already raved about the first SUV by Alfa Romeo von Stelvio, Alfa Romeo. Now it is time to test the range of performance of the range – the strong Quadrifoglio …
The Quadrifoglio (Italian for four-leaf clover) has already made it into the record books by beating the Nurburgring round record for an SUV in September 2017.
Driver Fabio Francia (who set up the ring record for a salon with the Giulia Quadrifoglio in 7 minutes and 32 seconds in 2016) beat the Stelvio QF in 7 minutes, 51.7 seconds around the green hell around the green hell – the previous record by 8 Seconds, 8 seconds ,, 8 seconds ,, by 8 seconds ,, by 8 seconds ,, by 8 Seconds ,, by 8 seconds ,, by 8 seconds ,, 8 seconds ,, 8 seconds ,, 8 seconds, to hit 8 seconds, by 8 seconds ,, by 8 seconds ,, 8 seconds ,, by 8 seconds to beat by 8 seconds, by 8 seconds ,, around 8 seconds ,, 8 seconds ,, set set from a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.
From the outside, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (short QF) has a muscular look, on the back there is a remaining stream diffuser with quad exhaust pipes. The side profile is improved by exhibited wheel boxes, massive 20-inch alloys and “cloverleaf” badge on both front flanks, while the bonnet has two sets of ventilation slots.
The Stelvio QF also has a mighty 2.9-liter V6 BI-Turbo-Ferrari-Ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari-ferrari petrol engine.
It develops 503 hp and 600 Nm torque and manages 0-62 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 176 km / h.
With a weight distribution of 50:50 with the all-wheel drive, it is packed with a clever technology, including the CDC unit (Alfa-chassis domain control), with a differentiated active torque vector as standard and an active suspension system.
Everything that leads to a 4 × 4 with Supercar performance that treats like a sports limousine. An SUV that seems to defy physics with mobility and minimal body roll.
There are torque bags, and thanks to its all-wheel drive system and all this technology, there is no lack of grip and traction from high-speed corners, while the steering is sharp and precise.
Yes, here is a car that likes to cross motorways, crawls in traffic with traffic and aggressively lead the miles when the streets become more challenging.
With the DNA Pro Selector of the Stelvio QF in the center console, you can switch the character of the car immediately. There are four modes for advanced efficiency (economy), n for natural (comfort), D for dynamic (fun) and r for breed (hardcore).
The first two settings are more comfortable and best for long trips, drive in the city and drive. Choose dynamically and manually change the equipment with the epic steering wheels when looking for thrill. The suspension is firm, while the gas and gear reaction is sharper – and you can really appreciate the pops and crackles of these four exhaust pipes.
Elsewhere, the Stelvio QF is similar to the standard car, which is not a bad thing. Like the Guilia sedan before, Alfa Romeo is hard on the heels of the Germans in terms of premium feeling and processing quality.
Inside there is more leather and carbon fiber as well as another quadrifoglio emblem in the 7.0-inch TFT instrument panel. Our test car was also equipped with Sparco Carbon-Shell sports seats (£ 3,250), which not only look cool, but are incredibly supportive.
The standard equipment includes an Apple CarPlay and an auto-capable 8.8-inch infotainment system, front and rear parking sensors, review camera, keyless entry, detection of blind stains, ambient lighting and a sports steering wheel with a flat floor.
However, the infotainment screen is a bit disappointing because it is not sensitive to touch and the graphics are fairly simple.
The Stelvio QF makes up for this again when it comes to space and overall design and makes it a practical daily driver.
There is a commanding driving position, plenty of space for three passengers in adult size in the rear area, while the luggage capacity is impressive 525 liters or 1,600 liters with the rear seats.
It is also safe and deserves a maximum of five stars in Euro -ncap -Crash tests. The standard security systems include autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane drain warning (LDW) and the integrated brake system from ALFA, which significantly reduces the braking distance on any street area.
Verdict: The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a rare thing – an exciting SUV. Good looking, spacious, safe, practical and well built, it is a real driver car.
